The Maggie Cardigan is worked top-down. First, the upper back is knitted with increases. Then, the shoulders are shaped from picked-up stitches along the back. More stitches are picked up along the shoulders, and the rest of the yoke and body are worked flat on circular needles. Sleeves are knitted in the round using double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop method. Finally, button bands and neckline edges are worked.
